Sometimes our weather is annoyingly stereotypical… Apparently, Ma Nature has decided to make up for not smothering the country until the after 27 December 2015 and is dumping the entire expected forecasted snowfall in eleven freakin’ hours!!
Well, I’m off. I need to shovel out my front lane. Again. Lord knows how many pets and short people I may find out there…
Something has happened since I took the recycle out at 5:30AM this morning…
My picnic table has been pilfered!
This was hiding under the door sweep.
How fondly I remember these lightly dusted bricks from this morning…
And… it’s time to go do the front. AGAIN.
The shed from whence the aforementioned bin was taken this AM. I’ll need to shovel out the other half doorway to put the damn thing back in!
The recycle bin will be spending the night at the curb…
Well… No words that are fit to print! ‘Sides, why waste a perfectly good curse when the acoustics in this town just reverted to soup tin and binder twine quality?!
24 December 2015 to 29 December 2015 ~ Welcome to winter in Ottawa.

Winter Finally Arrives!
So incredibly quiet on this normally busy street.
Artsy vine and snow shot.
I See My Work Is Cut Out For Me…
As of 11:30pm last night, there was a skiff of snow covering the bricks of my patio. This is 4:00pm on the next day.
Weather 180 – there was no snow in this spot yesterday!
Same feet, same backyard… Sigh…
And… my work here is done. Of course the front path needs doing. Volunteers??
I didn’t plan to post again until after Christmas but this is too cool not to share. Ottawa is listed among the coldest Capital cities on earth during winter. Today however, THIS is happening:

I loved winter when I was a kid but it loses its appeal when your skating, skiing and tobogganing days are over. Not to mention who wants to live through a winter where the air hurts your face?
If Santa has brought me global warming this year – I’m not complaining – 18ºC!! 🙂
24 December 2015
Anticipation’s held breath
The distance between lips and kiss
The electricity driving you mad
Before at last the heavens unzip
In a gush of storm and fury
As son and daughter are born
Bringing forth a new creation
Witnessing the birth of a storm
