My Dad

Earl Charles Tupper
Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, Friend
8 April 1937-13 October 2015

For my tolerance, Feminism, fairness, love of family and place
For my humour, bad habits, black hair, making fire with two sticks
For my strength that doesn’t shun tears, for believing in me no matter what
You will always be the measure of a man to which all others must aspire
I love you Papasan

Heartfelt thanks for all of your kind comments, the support is so appreciated. I have some close friends here on WP and didn’t want to simply disappear without a word or stay away without letting you know what’s happened. Take good care, K

OctPoWriMo 2015 ~ If I Did Envy…

I don’t envy the air that you breathe
Even though it fills spaces in your body

I don’t envy your body wash
Even though it sluices over your skin

And I don’t envy your toothbrush
Even though it lingers between your lips

I certainly don’t envy your office chair
Even though it cradles your perfect arse

If I had to envy anything at all… you’d be surprised
You’d think I’m gross or crazy but in fact, I’m wise
There’s nothing to envy in the everyday of your routine
People, places, things that you don’t pause to consider

I envy the junk mail in your slot each day
That you must look at to assess its worth

I envy the wind that ruffles your hair
Sending that one rebel curl into your eyes

I envy the mirror where you shave each day
Carefully considering each stroke you make

Mostly, I envy your glass of Crown Royale
The one that you savour slowly every evening

In the very way that once upon a time
You savoured every facet of me

Straight Crown

** I didn’t make it around to any blog visits yesterday – Thanksgiving prep and a furniture moving / set up kept me away until late. I hope to catch up with the OctPoets today :)**

OctPoWriMo 2015 ~ Kyrielle I

You relight the fuse and walk away
It’s your heart, not mine that you betray
This barrier, I must break through
Again, my thoughts return to you

I’m all aflame with your memory
You’re the only cure, my remedy
These words of mine, I know I’ll rue
Again, my thoughts return to you

Unbend your mind, no need to fear
True love and soul mates trump the years
What more am I supposed to do?
Again, my thoughts return to you

Don’t Wake Me

This teasing caress of your hands…
A day and night of magic, no words, no inhibitions
Dawn just barely illuminates the cocoon of my room
Your shadowed shade beyond my unwilling eyelids
Unwilling to break this spell you’ve woven
Preferring the candlelit illumination of last night
The inevitable reunion of soul mates
An explosive release of pent-up desires and emotions
Spilled, bitten, grasped, pushed, tossed, kissed, caressed
Memories of sinewy youthful bodies and perfect flesh
Melding and transmuting into the strength of bodies tested
Tattooing a new pattern onto the familiar beloved tender places
Words whispered, familiar and foreign in your stranger’s voice
Breathed against my ear with remembered intimacy, stealing my breath
Unhinging my knees with a kiss that is the lost key
The one to unlock the Pandora’s Box we buried together long ago
Your sweet mouth, your strong hands, my body is yours to command
Just don’t wake me, let me stay here forever
Let me live in this fierce tenderness
Let me exist only in your chocolate eyes
In the shelter of your arms
With no more separations
No more goodbyes

Coupled Sleeping Morning

Full Corn Moon

Come to me on this full corn moon

I’ll be easy to find

Haunting the spaces of your heart

The ones that you can’t fill with any other

I’ll wait in the moonlight

Pulling those strings that you cannot cut

Woven of moonbeams and long ago dreams

It’s time to reap what we sowed so long ago

Under a different harvest moon

In a time ended too soon

Not to be eclipsed on this rotation

Or pulled back by planet clare’s gravitation

Elliptical, we cross again

Directly in each other’s path

Crash into me

Softly

In these fields of moonlit gold

Sirena Armenia

I swim through palest amber glow

Strongbow

Romancing The Stoned

I swam in your blood a long time ago

You remain in my veins always

Me, captured in amber memories

Coquina-like in the ocean of my soul

Could I be blamed for submerging here

Within a nautilus of love, desire, and total submission

Could I be blamed for reaching out just one more time

Could the ocean be blamed for returning to the shore

Should I be shamed for crashing myself here

Unto the only shore, into the only arms

That ever were strong enough to receive

Wild enough to conceive

Of a coalescence as primal as the earth’s

Own conception

And

Birth?
