OctPoWriMo 2015 ~ Deaf Ears

Whatever happened to the boys of my youth
Specifically you, if I’m telling the truth

I can accept the changes that Life and aging brings
Not so much the difference in fundamental things

From conversations that went well into the night
Sharing ideas and theories like a burning light

To a taciturn coldness and gruff demeanour
You wear ill manners just like it’s your armour

The hardest thing of all that I have to swallow
Is how the change in you leaves me feeling hollow

You inspired me to be the very best I can
Yet you’ve become a jaded, middle-aged man

Closed off by arrogance or misconception
Rebuffing friendship or the mildest affection

Once omnipotent in your positive influence on me
Now just impotent and cynical is all that I see

OctPoWriMo 2015 ~ Enchanted Dusk ~ Etheree I

Dusk
Arrives
So quickly
In October
Black lace silhouettes
Trimming watered silk skies
Like a gown for a princess
This once upon a wish raiment
Delights the senses for just moments
Then disappears leaving you wanting more

OctPoWriMo 2015 ~ Hope Springs

I was going to write a few silly lines

One boy, two boy

Three boys, oh joy!

Then I thought, why waste my breath; my attention and time

To try to get to you with my meter and rhyme

You’ve become a brick wall, with an acid-filled moat

Seems you’re impervious to anything that I wrote

But I’ll leave the candle burning

Just this one last time

And pray the flame melts your armour

Kindling what was once

Yours and mine

OctPoWriMo 2015 ~ Challenged ~ Day One Drivel

A lready I’m placating the tyrant

iquor might help but not this early in the day

ither I shall sink or swim

E levate my drivel and doggerel and hear this

Hey Blue Eyes it’s me
Loving memory’s frisson
We live forever
In the chords of summer breeze
And Polaroid summer sun
