Karin Bole Tupper currently works at Health Canada, First Nations and Inuit Health Branch.

She studied to become a Certified Dental Assistant and was published in her professional association’s magazine. A career detour into the burgeoning High Tech industry followed very quickly and while working as a Documentation Controller, the opportunity to learn technical writing came with the job description.  More recently, Karin pursued a diploma as a Law Clerk, working with Internet and patent law during her internship.

Always an artistic and creative spirit, Karin pursued many different traditional crafts, including writing for personal enjoyment. She honed these skills over the years of marriage and motherhood and soon had a rewarding knitwear design business developing alongside with raising two children and a full-time job. Her knitting blog Pointe Shoes Punk Rock And Purl, started in 2006, is a lively spot and an informal glimpse into her world and her warm, intimate writing style. Karin’s writing of a more mature nature is shared on Eclectic Unconfined.

Embracing the digital world of reading and writing, Karin has worked with Skyreader Media, doing voice over work. You can hear her on the highly acclaimed e-reader application for children, “Wiggens Makes Friends at the San Diego Zoo”. Versatile with accents and  vocal characterizations, Karin is available for voice over work, in studio.

Her writing is focused primarily on poetry and short stories. The often fact-based fiction that she pens encompasses romance, parody, loss, family and relationships, with a demonstrated flair for the descriptive.

Karin lives in Canada’s Capital, surrounded by family and friends; too much yarn and not enough books.

    • Thank you so much. It was hard to frame what I felt, still so sad. I was reminded again of how fleeting life is. Marcus followed and supported so many, it’s such a gift he gave. I hope to overcome my shyness that way, we just never know when that one contact with someone may be a turning point for them, or the last gift we can give.

    Voice overs, wow! I had an agent when I was younger. I thought of doing voice overs too, but it never materialized.

    • Thank you so much Beth! I found you via Erika’s blog and loved what I saw. I’ve been really fortunate to be able to field a few of the balls that life has thrown me. I’m always open to new adventures, big or small. It definitely keeps life interesting.
