Do this for me would you?
Find a tee-shirt that you love. Wear it to bed for three nights. Three nights that you’re alone. Fall asleep with me on your mind, dream about me and how it was, maybe shower with Creed before you do. Don’t let anyone else touch it.
Slip that shirt into a bag and bring it here. You know where I live. Slip it into the mailbox or tuck it between the doors in the back garden.
I wouldn’t ask for what you can’t give and I don’t want what isn’t mine to have completely.
This though… I think you can do this for me. Just like your old football jersey, I’ll wrap it round me as if it were your arms. Safe in once upon a time and what might have been.
