OctPoWriMo 2015 ~ Challenged ~ Day One Drivel

razy! Shouts my lazy Muse

arried by my rash participation

A lready I’m placating the tyrant

onging for a perfect phrase

iquor might help but not this early in the day

ither I shall sink or swim

o going back now

ods of Poetry help me endure this thirty day torture

E levate my drivel and doggerel and hear this

aily mantra for this month of October

    • Ha! Thank you and glad you liked it :). I haven’t participated in one of these in over a year. Hope I can find some “Writer’s Wheaties” and put up with the doofus naysayer commentary from non participants!

  1. As writers we all have this rattling around in our heads and bodies but as poets, it runs even deeper leaving us feeling inadequate for the task, we just need to push through and find reasons to laugh as much as possible. Very well said, and I can definitely relate! Thanks for linking up!

    • Thanks so much! It’s been a long time since I participated in a challenge and am glad for this kick in the poetic pantaloons 🙂

  2. This was an absolute delight to read as it had me laughing at myself as I thought much along the same lines …. except I’ve never done a month long poetry challenge! I wish you courage and excellent elevations – even if liquor induced – and yes, it must be 5 o’clock somewhere 🙂

  3. I can relate. Any day that I don’t write at least a little something, it really bothers me!
Thank you for visiting us at poetryofthenetherworld dot blogspot dot com and commenting on Adam’s poem! 🙂

  4. This made me smile. I loved it. I got told over the summer that I should drink more when I write because apparently I come up with some good words, so I loved that line in this. LOL
    Good acrostic.
