I love this man so much. He is part of the wallpaper of my life. A favourite of my Aunt Dolwyn, his music plays in many of my best memories. His album “Teaser And The Firecat” is one of the first that I bought with my babysitting money, Nazareth’s Greatest Hits being the other… but that’s a different post!
I thought he was the epitome of male perfection, drawing him in art class, learning every lyric – including the Greek “Ruby Love” – and copying snippets of many of those in amongst my journal writing. This is one of my favourite videos of him live and singing one of my favourite of his songs, “Bitter Blue”. I was too young to see him before he renounced the limelight but this video has captured a perfect moment and I love how he’s so very human (and adorable!) while on stage.
Yusuf Islam (Cat Stevens) will be playing Massey Hall in Toronto this coming December and if anyone has a ticket they won’t be using… I have a left kidney that is totally superfluous!
I’ve not seen this video before. I loved the playfulness when he forgot the words. This was very uplifting and made me smile. Huge hugs and smiles.

Isn’t it great? That’s my favourite part, he was already a huge star but just so down to earth 🙂
Sending hugs right back to you, hope today is a good one ❤

He also said:
‘I need to know you, need to feel my arms around you
Feel my arms around you, like a sea around a shore
And each night and day I pray, in hope
That I might find you, in hope that I might
Find you, because hearts can do no more’
How can anyone resist???

Not I. How can I tell you? I yearned for those words from the time I first heard them. The ending that doesn’t really end is perfect 🙂
ETA: From the same concert. Amazing.
