That email.
That one that you hammer onto the keys.
You know the one. You’re pissed off as all hell but every point you make is precise. Like a laser-guided scalpel. And witty.
Aren’t we all witty in that moment before hitting “Send”?
I want to send that email right now. It’s been brewing – well, maybe festering – for days now and it’s like The Alien, ready to burst out of me and to smash into your inbox like the Acme anvil on Wile E.’s head.
It’s the email that tells you in no uncertain terms just exactly what I think of you and it’s perfect. It’s perfect and I will have the ultimate satisfaction of ceremoniously clicking that button right… fucking… now.
That satisfaction will probably last about a parsec before “OMG, OMG, OMG!! What the HELL did I just do?!”
Delete.
I know that email…I’ve written it a million times and fortunately I usually cool off before I hit send, if I didn’t I probably would have had many, many OMG moments.

I hate to admit it but I am a bit of a firebrand when angry. It takes a lot to get me there but when I am, look out! Fortunately, I’ve learned to walk away from the keyboard 🙂

That is the best thing to do…just walk away. 🙂

Boy, does that sound familiar. Happened to me just recently, but like you, I settled down and re-thought about what I was going to do. Hope you can get past the “festering” part. 🙂

Me too! I guess I want answers and an email might break the silence and only bring more questions. I think I’ll have to try yoga and meditation until the “why” doesn’t bother me so much anymore 🙂
